Chris Clark Cars, Inc. has been in business since September 1989. They are located at 250 Detroit Avenue in Morton, IL. Chris is personally involved in all aspects of the business and, in fact, is the sole full time employee. He is aided by his two youngest sons, Jeff, 26, a graduate of Robert Morris College, now employed by Caterpillar in Morton and Jared 23, a student at Illinois State University, majoring in criminal justice. Justin, 29, worked at the lot during high school and school breaks. He is a University of Illinois graduate and is currently a Project Engineer with Caterpillar living in Chicago
All are car nuts. Chris is interested in all forms of racing and has been an associate sponsor of American Speed Association and Nascar Busch Grand National cars driven by Brad Loney as well as having attended 44 Indy 500's in a row and 25 Daytona 500's . Chris and the boys drag raced a Turbo Regal several yeaars ago. Actually, the only new car Chris ever bought was an 87 Grand National he still has, to go along with his 67 Shelby GT350, 65 Mustang GT convertible and Shelby AC Cobra roadster replica, which, by the way, he sells. Jeff is an accomplished Go Kart racer , currently on break, having raced throughout the midwest. Jared's passion is open wheel racing (especially Formula 1) and is currently driving an Acura Integra GSR. Justin has an 87 Regal Turbo T Type which he has had since he was 16 and is currently doing a total restoration on it and a modified Honda Del Sol with the V Tec engine.
Chris Clark Cars' specialty is dealing in extremely nice used cars that are probably a bit nicer and more heavily optioned than the average car on the market.
Chris' experience is a real key to the success of this small business. Chris started out as a lot boy at the Ford dealership in Morton at age 15. After graduating from the University of Illinois with a B.S. in Business Administration, he worked as a factory Rep. for Ford Motor Co. for 4 years. In 1975, Chris left Ford and moved back to Morton and worked in sales and assistant management at the Ford dealership. In 1978, he went to Bush Holloway Ford in Chillicothe, IL as Sales Manager. In 1980, He came back to Morton and became General Manager of Village Buick-GMC Trucks, buying a substantial portion of the business in 1982. In late 1987 Chris sold his part of the Buick dealership and began plans for Chris Clark Cars, Inc.
Chris' extensive background in the used car business has made him extremely knowledgeable in what vehicles have the best reliability and performance. This experience obviously gives him the knowledge to know what to look for when purchasing inventory.
